TorHoerman Law Helps Edwardsville Community Show Just How “Tank Full” They Are for Main Street Community Center as Trivia Night Raises Unprecedented Funding

The Main Street Community Center (MSSC) has been a centerpiece for the Edwardsville community by providing residents of all ages with a range of group and individual services since 1974. On Saturday February 25th residents provided the center with a resounding “Thank you!” by raising $14,166 during the annual “Tank Full” trivia night. According to Sara Berkbigler, Executive Director of the Main Street Community Center, the amount raised almost doubles past amounts and greatly exceeds the $10,000 goal set for this year.

The event was once again proudly sponsored by TorHoerman Law and took place at Edwardsville’s Moose Lodge. Besides a great trivia competition involving cash prizes, attendants could participate in a 50/50 raffle, silent auction, or various audience participation events. All proceeds from the night’s events directly benefit a door-to-door transportation program for seniors and the disabled within the Edwardsville Community. Those who use the center’s transportation program describe its benefit to both the community and them individually as invaluable. For instance, 86 year old Bea says she would be “lost without the Main Street Community Center”! In a time where political ideologies are dividing the nation, it is imperative that individuals and the greater community continually remind themselves of basic human needs that unite us all. By giving back to help these basic needs, the community becomes a better place for all to live in through one charitable act at a time. The power of neighborly charity is exactly why TorHoerman Law is proud to sponsor the Main Street Community Center and equally proud to announce that the trivia night was a major charitable success for the Edwardsville community.

If you missed the event but would like to get involved with the Community Center there are still multiple ways to be a helpful neighbor. First, there are a number of MSCC programs to volunteer for which are listed on MSCC’s website. Additionally, if you are interested in helping out specifically with the door-to-door transportation program MSCC is handing out pledge cards to sponsor a day, week, or month of gas for the bus. For more information or additional ways to help out, please contact Sara Berkbigler at sara@mainstcc.org. TorHoerman Law would like to thank all of those who attended the “Tank Full” trivia night and we hope that you will continue to join us in our ongoing efforts to make our communities a better place to live for everyone.
