Biography

Eric W. Cracken joined TorHoerman Law in March of 2019, to work alongside his friend and mentor, Jacob Plattenberger, in our Chicago office. Despite being the youngest member of our trial team, his unique experience and skill set has made him a competent and passionate advocate for those injured by the tortious acts of others.

  • JUUL E-Cigarette – Products Liability Litigation, JCCP No. 5052. Co-Leads in all JUUL litigation for TorHoerman Law.  These cases are pending.
  • Diacetyl – Co-Leads in all Diacetyl litigation for TorHoerman Law.  Litigation is currently on-going.  Previous settlements and verdicts have exceeded $5,000,000.00 to date.

At TorHoerman Law, Eric is a member of our trial team, which focuses in nationwide, complex litigations such as Diacetyl and Juul/E-Cigarettes, various product liability mass torts, and, catastrophic injury and death cases.  Eric specializes in litigation, discovery, and client acquisition.

During law school, Eric was granted a license to practice law under the Supreme Court of Illinois Rule 711.  This afforded him a rare opportunity to get courtroom experience and advocate for those in need.  Additionally, Eric attended several Trial Advocacy programs; including being 1 of 25 Americans selected to attend The University of Oxford in the United Kingdom to compete in several litigation “skills”.

Personal Bio:

Eric was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. He now lives in the Loop, with his two dogs: Rosie and Wrigley. Eric is an obnoxious supporter of the 5x Super Bowl Champions Dallas Cowboys (aka America’s Team), the Dallas Stars, and his Oklahoma Sooners.

Before deciding to pursue a career as a litigator, Eric was interested in being a Broadway performer. He spent two and a half years studying Acting and Vocal Performance at Oklahoma City University, a well-renowned performing arts college; and spent his Summer’s in New York auditioning for shows and honing his craft.

Eric traded in performing on a stage to performing in a courtroom.
