MHP says snow covered the traffic light at the time of the MO 30 wreck

HIGH RIDGE, MO – A 58-year-old man driving a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado had failed to stop at a red light, leading to a three-vehicle crash that sent him and two other men to a hospital Wednesday.

The collision happened before 12:30 p.m. at the intersection of eastbound MO 30 and Little Brennan Road. Missouri Highway Patrol said snow was covering the traffic signal when the 58-year-old male driver proceeded through the intersection. As the man continued driving, he struck a driver of a 2018 Dodge Grand Caravan, turning left and then a 1994 Chevrolet GMT400.

The driver of the Chevrolet GMT, a 30-year-old Byrnes Hill man, then struck the concrete base of the traffic light.

North Jefferson County ambulance crews took the Byrnes Hill man, and the 58-year-old High Ridge man to Mercy Hospital South. The High Ridge man is recovering from serious wounds, and the Byrnes Hill man is recovering from minor injuries.

The Dodge driver, a 36-year-old Fenton man, was unharmed, while his passenger, a 32-year-old St. Louis man, sustained minor injuries. The St. Louis was transported to Access Urgent Care by a personal vehicle.

Troopers have not formally announced any charges or citations.
