Collision happened at MO 21 & MO 110, where one vehicle T-boned another

DESOTO, MO – Failing to yield was a contributing factor behind a three-vehicle crash with injury that happened in De Soto on Monday.

Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the collision at 7:40 a.m. at the intersection of MO 121 and MO 110. There, a driver of a 2025 Nissan Altima sedan failed to yield to an oncoming 2015 Toyota Rav4 while turning left in front of it. The Toyota Rav crashed into the right side of the Nissan Altima.

The impact of the collision then caused the Nissan Altima to crash into a 2024 Ford F-150.

MSHP identified the Nissan driver as a 68-year-old man from High Ridge, the Toyota driver as a 24-year-old man, a De Soto local, and the Ford driver as a 28-year-old man from Festus.

The drivers in their 20s were uninjured, while the Nissan driver sustained minor injuries. Valle Ambulance was called to the scene and transported the injured motorist to Mercy Hospital South for treatment.

The Nissan and Toyota were totaled and were towed away by Ives Towning, while the Ford pickup truck only sustained minor damage and was removed from the scene by its driver.

MSHP said all drivers were the sole occupants of their vehicles and wore their seatbelts. At this time, troopers have not confirmed if they cited the Nissan motorist for failing to yield.
