Female driver fails to stop at red light, leading to three-vehicle collision

ST. LOUIS, MO – Two adults and a teenage driver were sent to a hospital following a chain-reaction crash in St. Louis on Wednesday.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 1:45 p.m. at the northbound I-55 off-ramp connecting to U.S. 50. MSHP determined that it was a 35-year-old woman who failed to stop at the ramp and rear-ended a 2012 Ford F-150 pickup truck with her 2016 GMC Terrain SUV. The pickup truck was pushed forward and crashed into the back of a 2013 Ford Taurus.

The pickup truck driver, a 17-year-old male from Imperial, and his passenger, an 18-year-old man from House Springs, and the 35-year-old woman from Fenton all sustained minor injuries.

The 18-year-old man and 35-year-old woman were transported to Mercy Hospital South by Mehlville Fire Protection, and the teenager was sent to that same hospital by private conveyance.

MSHP did not say if they cited the 35-year-old woman.
