Suspect's brother was killed in the collision, St. Louis Co. Police sayĀ Ā

ST. LOUIS, MO – A 22-year-old man faces several felony charges after shooting someone in the foot, forcibly entering a home, and causing a deadly pursuit-turned-crash.

KSDK said the incident happened on Saturday and started when the 22-year-old man, Ivyon Houston from St. Louis, first shot a person in the foot inside a home on Lorena Lane. Houston left the home and came back later and forcibly entered that home by kicking down the door and demanding that the home occupants return his gun to him. Houston left and came back for the third time while St. Louis County police were there.

Houston immediately drove away from the scene with his brother when he saw police. Officers tried to pull over Houston, but he refused to stop, which prompted a pursuit.

The chase eventually came to an end when Houston crashed his car in the area of North Broadway and East Taylor Avenue.

Police arrested Houston, and EMS crews took his brother to a hospital, where he died. Houston’s brother has since been identified as 27-year-oldĀ  Brian Sonnier.

Houston is to be held on a $100,000 cash-only bond by the order of a judge. Prior to this shooting and police chase-turned-crash, Houston was convicted ā€œin Lincoln County of resisting arrest by fleeing.ā€

St. Louis police are continuing to investigate the details behind the collision.
