Woman, 26, sustains moderate injuries, MSHP says

ST. PETERS, MO – One woman was sent to a hospital following a pursuit-turned-crash that occurred on I-70 West last Friday, Jan. 30.

Missouri State Highway Patrol said the incident unfolded when a law enforcement vehicle, with activated sirens, collided with a 2007 Dodge Caravan. The officer intentionally crashed into the Dodge because its driver was intentionally fleeing from law enforcement.

The Dodge then crashed into a 2023 Kia Soul driven by a 26-year-old woman from St. Charles.

St. Charles County ambulance crews transported the St. Charles woman to Mercy Hospital St. Louis for treatment of moderate injuries.

The suspect was identified as a 30-year-old man from St. Louis.

St. Charles fire crews, St. Charles County EMS, and St. Charles County Police all responded to the scene.

Law enforcement did not specify why the pursuit was initiated or confirm any charges for the suspect.
