ST. LOUIS, MO — A woman was killed and four other people were injured Friday night in a wrong-way crash on Lewis and Clark Boulevard in north St. Louis County, police said.

KMOV reports that the crash happened at about 10:45 p.m. in the northbound lanes of Lewis and Clark Boulevard near Highway 67.

Investigators said a black Kia Forte was traveling south in the northbound lanes when it collided head-on with a Mercury Grand Marquis.

Police said the woman who died was driving the Mercury. Her name has not been released.

Three passengers in the Mercury were also hurt and transported to a local hospital. Police said a 23-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman suffered critical injuries, while a 22-year-old woman had injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

The driver of the Kia was also hospitalized with injuries that were not life-threatening, police said.

Authorities said the investigation remains active. Detectives believe other drivers may have witnessed the crash and are asking anyone with information to contact St. Louis County Police at 314-615-5400.
