The driver allegedly caursed a crash in Chicago and another one in Warrenville on Monday afternoon

WARRENVILLE, IL – According to WGN 9, an impaired driver caused two crashes in Chicago and Warrenville on Monday afternoon.

Michael J. Fox, 28, was allegedly involved in a hit-and-run collision near Illinois 59 and Joliet Street around 5 p.m.

Officers spotted Fox’s vehicle fleeing the scene and tried to perform a traffic stop. Fox pulled over but sped away on Butterfield Road as the officer approached his vehicle.

The officer chased after Fox with his emergency lights on. The pursuit reached speeds around 70 mph.

Fox ran a red light at the intersection of Illinois 59 and Butterfield Road and slammed into a Honda CRV.

First responders transported the two people in the Honda to an area hospital with minor injuries.

Authorities arrested Fox and determined he was impaired. A breathalyzer test showed Fox’s BAC was .267 at the time of the crash. That is over three times the legal limit.

Fox was charged with two counts of aggravated fleeing and eluding and one count of aggravated DUI. He is scheduled to appear in court again on September 8.
