Chad Finley

Attorney
Edwardsville, IL

Chad Finley is a partner at TorHoerman Law and focuses on representing clients who have been wronged by the tortious acts of others, including pharmaceutical and medical device cases, products liability, mass torts, catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death, and whistleblower actions.

Professional Career

Chad represents clients in complex cases.

Chad is primarily a litigator and in the past has been on the litigation team for Juul addictions and lung injuries, Actos, Pradaxa, Coldwater Creek (Radiation Exposure), Hyland’s Teething Tablets and numerous personal injury cases against major corporations.

He was selected by Judge Rosenstengel, Southern District of Illinois, to serve on the Paraquat Plaintiffs’ Executive Committee in MDL 3004.

He is also actively litigating claims that infant formula manufacturers Abbott and Mead are causing a catastrophic gastrointestinal disease (Necrotizing Enterocolitis) in premature infants.

He specializes in complex nationwide cases and during litigation often works on corporate discovery, obtaining and reviewing documents, case strategy, questioning of witnesses, experts, and trial strategy.

Chad was the first law clerk hired by TorHoerman Law. He left to take an externship (aka – working while in school for free) with the Office of General Counsel for Health and Human Services (HHS).

He worked on rule making for the Affordable Care Act and assisted HHS with issues related to False Claims Act cases.

After finishing his externship with HHS Chad returned to TorHoerman Law and has spent his entire career here.

When people, or their family members, are injured Chad takes pride in being their voice in depositions and the courtroom and holding those responsible accountable for their actions and decisions.

Personal Life

Chad attended and played football at Wabash College, which is the rival school of Tor’s alma mater DePauw University.

Wabash was the school for those that were smarter, more athletic, better looking, and harder working.

(Don’t worry Tor never checks our website bios and Chad let him know all of this in his law clerk cover letter).

Chad is originally from Bismarck, a small town in East Central Illinois, and attended St. Louis University School of Law.

After working as an intern at TorHoerman Law he knew he never wanted to work anywhere else.

Chad is an avid disliker of sleep, boredom, beaches, and corporations that lie.

In odd moments of spare time, he enjoys spending time with family, skiing, traveling, kayaking, games, coffee, wine, and winning.

Mostly though he spends his time working all hours of the day and night reading corporate documents, researching, and trying to understand all the facts and science in his lawsuits.

Chad is extremely passionate about the work that he does because he truly believes lawyers can make a difference – both in people’s lives, and for the greater public good.
