DE SOTO, MO – A multi-vehicle accident in Jefferson County on Sunday night left one person dead and two others injured, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
State troopers were called to the scene at about 10:15 p.m. on Missouri Route 21 south of Route 110 near De Soto.
The MSHP’s crash report states that the operator of a 2026 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle was going south on Route 21 when he crashed into the back of a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The impact caused the motorcycle to travel across the center of the roadway, where it collided with a northbound 2026 Hyundai Tucson.
The motorcyclist, a 22-year-old man from De Soto, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Hyundai driver, a 52-year-old man from Yonkers, New York, was seriously injured. A 28-year-old woman from Dittmer, Missouri, who was riding as a passenger in the vehicle, suffered moderate injuries. Both were taken to Mercy Hospital South for treatment.
