ST. CHARLES COUNTY, MO – A single-vehicle wreck on Interstate 70 in St. Charles County sent two women to the hospital on Saturday night.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s accident report, the driver of a 2006 Mazda 6 was traveling eastbound on I-70 when the crash happened west of Lake St. Louis Boulevard just before 7 p.m. The Mazda went off the right side of the roadway, struck a fence and overturned, ejecting one of the occupants.
The driver, a 25-year-old woman from Kansas City, Kansas, and a passenger, a 25-year-old woman from Kansas City, Missouri, were both seriously injured. They were transported by St. Charles County Ambulance District to Mercy Hospital St. Louis. Neither person was wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision, the MSHP said.
The vehicle was totaled and towed away from the scene.
