Speedy & red-light-running driver causes collision at U.S. 67 & MO Bottom Road

ST. LOUIS, MO – Three adults and a 7-year-old boy were seriously injured in a three-vehicle crash in St. Louis on Wednesday.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the collision took place before 5 p.m. at the intersection of northbound U.S. 67 and Missouri Bottom Road. Preliminary details show a 33-year-old man, driving a 2009 Mercedes-Benz C300, was traveling at a high rate of speed and entered the intersection at a steady red light.

A westbound unspecified vehicle got close to the Mercedes, causing the 33-year-old male driver of the Mercedes to overcorrect and slide, causing his car to crash into a 2022 Dodge Charger. The debris from that crash struck the right side of a 2015 Honda Civic.

The Dodge driver, a 32-year-old woman from Florissant, then crashed into a ditch. She, along with her passenger, a 7-year-old boy, was seriously injured.

The Mercedes driver and his passenger, a 40-year-old man, both St. Louis locals, also suffered serious injuries. Hazelwood Fire Protection District transported them both to Mercy Hospital St. Louis.

Robertson Fire Protection District also transported the 32-year-old woman to Mercy Hospital St. Louis as well, while Pattonville Fire Protection District transported her young male passenger to St. Louis Children’s Hospital.

MSHP has not reported any citations.
